Multipurpose Building

Thanks to the multipurpose building which was completed in 2008 the school now has a communal room for morning prayers, rituals, events and meetings. Moreover, a wind protected yard is formed in which the morning assembly and festivals can be held.

The walls of the building are – as the rest of the school house – also build in traditional style. The stones are chiseled to the suitable size and assembled to a solid wall using minimal mortar. The window frames are made of wood, traditionally carved and painted with help of the students. As only modern material used is the corrugated steel used for the roof, which is painted florescent yellow. The ground floor of the multipurpose building, also called Gompa, serves as a common room for morning and evening prayers as well as a hall for rituals and festive events, assembly hall, auditorium for meetings of the community. In the upper floor there is a library and study rooms as well as two teacher rooms.
