Losar, consecration of new geshes and the birthday of a master (26/05/2023)

After the New Year festival, a birthday and the consecration of new geshes was also celebrated. Many came from Dolpo for this.

For the first time since the pandemic, the Tibetan community in Nepal was able to celebrate New Year in February 2022.

The festivities were followed by a birthday celebration of the great master of the Bon tradition, Nyamme Sherab Gyaltsen. Many people travelled from Dolpo to Kathmandu especially for this occasion.

Third, the new Bon geshes were consecrated. Geshe is the designation of an academic title in Tibetan Buddhism and Bon religion.
